Maddalena joined the DNOA after years of collaboration with opera education institutions, such as Music Academy International and Univertisy of Hartford. Born in Italy, Maddalena graduated cum laude from Bologna University and continued her studies at the Yale School of Drama. Her management experience embraces all areas of live entertainment, from opera to musicals, from theatre to concerts, between the US and Europe.
Having enjoyed many years freelancing as a stage and production manager (favourite credits include several seasons with Connecticut Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Off-Broadway productions of Zanna, Don’t! and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot at The Public Theatre in NYC, her collaboration with the Royal Opera Covent Garden on many productions, and the National Italian tour of Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita), Maddalena worked for several years as the Director of Production and Artistic Administration with the Trentino Music Festival.

DNOA students have the opportunity to work with a wide range of well-established and respected specialists from the international opera scene. These include vocal coaches and teachers, directors, conductors and agents as well as people from the field of cultural management and performance psychology who lead masterclasses, seminars and workshops.
