Katarzyna Mandla
Mezzo soprano

A recipient of a scholarship from Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Katarzyna Mandla completed her bachelor’s degraa at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wroclaw.

Performance credits include roles several Mozart operas including Le nozze di Figaro (Marcellina), La clemenza di Tito (Sesto) and Così fan tutte (Dorabella) as well as the title role in Carmen and Zita in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi

Katarzyna was also a soloist during a festival Wratislavia Cantans, where she was singing part of Apollo in “Apollo in Cielo” and Holofernes in “La Giuditta” in National Forum of Music in Wrocław, Poland. 

A frequent competitors competition finalist and laureate. Katarzyna has been awarded prizes at the Mozart International Vienna Competition (3rd Prize), Monika Swarowska Walawska International Competition (3rd Prize), Birmingham International Music Competition (2nd prize), London Classical Music Competition (2nd Prize). 

Repertoire at the DNOA includes the European premiere of Benjamin Perry Wenzelberg’s Nighttown (Calypso/Stephen’s mother’s ghost), Madama Rosa in Donizetti’s Il campanello and the Forrester’s wife and Woodpecker in Leoš Janáček’s Příhody lišky Bystroušky  (The Cunning Little Vixen).
