Synopsis

Florestan Ducroquet escapes over the roofs from a furious husband with whose wife he has just been caught in the act. Jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire, he falls through a chimney into the room belonging to Suzanne, the fiancée of his creditor, Henri Martel. Suzanne has locked herself in there with her friend Rosita, because she has had an argument with Henri – just on the eve of their wedding. At that moment Henri is standing at the door, seeking reconciliation with Suzanne. The situation is delicate – what should they do with Florestan? All exits are blocked, jumping out of the window from the third floor to the street would doubtlessly kill him. The emergency provides the ladies with an idea how to rescue Florestan and at the same time teach Henri a lesson.
