DNOA is a two-year master program for highly talented young opera singers focusing on the integration of singing and acting. DNOA graduates receive a master of opera diploma and are trained to be inventive singing actors who are fully committed in their work and well prepared for the many challenges of the professional field. The principal aim of DNOA’s program is to deliver a creative, flexible and reliable artist for today’s operatic profession.

Since the young singer learns the most from performing, a great deal of the time and energy within DNOA is invested in the performing aspect. DNOA produces two fully staged operas per year with professional orchestras like the Royal Residentie Orchestra. During lesson periods students attend individual lessons, group lessons, audition trainings, workshops and masterclasses. In addition, DNOA students appear in concerts in various venues, including the foyer of the Dutch National Opera and the Royal Concertgebouw of Amsterdam. The collaboration with Dutch National Opera DNO leads to occasional opportunities for DNOA students to perform in main stage productions.
