Kris Ng

From Hong Kong, soprano Kris Ng is in her second year at the Dutch National Opera Academy where her voice teacher is Sasja Hunnego. An Honours graduate of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, she completed a further bachelor’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. She is the recipient of the Lee Bing Memorial Scholarship, the Peter Curzon Charitable Trust Scholarship and the K. Wah International Vocal Scholarship. Furthermore, she was an awardee of ‘Young Music Makers 2017’ (Radio Television Hong Kong Radio 4). In addition to appearances at the Concertgebouw under the auspices of Entrée and as part of the Radio West concert series at the Nieuwe Kerk Den Haag, her recent performance credits include Bach’s cantatas BWV 80 and 147 as well as Bach’s St Mark Passion in a reconstruction by Matthew Halls, and Amy in Mark Adamo’s Little Women and ensemble singer in Willem Jeth’s Ritratto at Dutch National Opera. Future plans include the title role in Viardot’s Cendrillon, Cleopatra in Graun’s Cleopatra e Cesare and Adele in Johann Strauss’s Die Fledermaus for the DNOA, and a Mozart operatic gala with the Residentie Orkest.
