Gita Rebeka Dirveika

Gita Rebeka Dirveika began her musical path early in her life. After joining the internationally acclaimed youth choir ‘Kamēr…’ in 2008, led by conductor Māris Sirmais, she performed as the choir’s soloist in many performances, including concerts at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York, the Kölcsey Centre in Debrecen, Hungary and the Latvian National Opera. Gita began her professional voice training in 2013 with Natalija Kozlova at the Jāzeps Mediņš Rīga Music High School. In 2014 she was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Young Singers Competition ‘Bella Voce’, and during her training she has given solo performances throughout Latvia. Gita Rebeka continued her musical education at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag with Catrin Wyn-Davies and Phyllis Ferwerda. During her studies in the Netherlands, she has performed in productions of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas in Portugal, and in various projects with Cappella Amsterdam including Mozart’s Don Giovanni with the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, under Kenneth Montgomery, and ‘De Langste Nacht’, in collaboration with Project Wildeman.
