Stephanie Desjardins / soprano
Stephanie Desjardins is a French-Canadian, lyric soprano. Stephanie is a new student of the Dutch National Opera Academy and currently studying with Ira Siff and Sasja Hunnego. Stephanie will be performing the roles of Female Chorus in Britten's Rape of Lucretia, Micäela in Bizet's Carmen and Fiordiligi in Mozart's Cosi van tutte. Upcoming concerts also include Mozart’s Requiem with the New Mannheim Choir and Orchestra in Utrecht and Leiden, in October 2017. In Canada, Stephanie performed many concerts and oratorios, including Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, Handel's Messiah, Bach's Magnificat as well as the Canadian premiere of Bach's St. John Passion. Stephanie has also performed in several operatic productions including Second Lady in Mozart's Die Zauberflote, Nathalie in the Canadian premiere of David Foley's May 23rd, and in concert with the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra singing Dvorak and Händel. Stephanie graduated with Honours from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Canada and was twice the recipient of the prestigious Meta Voss Scholarship. Stephanie is also a very passionate teacher and has taught voice and piano with much success in Canada and continues to grow her teaching studio in Amsterdam.
