Serena Perez / mezzo-soprano
The spanish mezzosoprano Serena Perez (1991) followed her first musical studies in the Conservatory in Gijon (Spain), where she developed her musicianship with singing lessons by Maria Antonia Entrialgo, and violin lessons as a minor. During this period, she received the training in technique by the hands of Lola Arenas and Carmen Palacios. At the same time she received her diploma in Nursing at the University of Oviedo.
She completed in 2017 her Bachelor degree cum laude with professor Sasja Hunnego and pianist Jan Paul Grijpink at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Here she followed masterclasses with Margreet Honig, Ira Siff, Johannette Zomer, Floris Visser, Paul Triepels, Alexander Oliver and Jeff Cohen, among others.
She has performed several solo concerts in Spain, Portugal, The Netherlands and France with kwonk repertoire as the Rwquiem by Mozart, Stabat Mater by Pergolesi and the Christmas Oratorio by Saint Saens.
Also in the field of opera and zarzuela she has already sung a variety of roles such as La Speranza in Orfeo by Monteverdi, Badessa in Suor Angelica, the 2nd Witch in Dido and Aeneas by Purcell, Acis in the Baroque zarzuela Acis and Galatea by A. Literes.
Next roles Serena will be singing are: “Bianca” from the rape of Lucretia by Benjamin Britten, and “Despina” from Cosi fan tutte by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
