Maari Ernits (1986) / soprano
The Estonian soprano Maari Ernits has followed a musical path all her life. At an early age she took up playing the violin and was a valuable member of many highly praised choirs in Estonia. Her university studies led her to pursue a career in law, but after a very successful three years in Heino Eller Music School of Tartu studying classical singing, Maari decided to concentrate fully on her musical career. Maari finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Music at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2015 with distinction. Currently, she is studying in a Master’s Degree program of the Dutch National Opera Academy with Sasja Hunnego.
On the concert stage Maari could be heard singing Mahler’s Rückert Lieder with the Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra Con Brio conducted by Willem de Bordes. Recently, Maari sung as a guest with the Brackmann Trio performing the Wesendonck Lieder of Wagner.
Maari has participated in many international masterclasses all over the world. The highlights include the summer of 2014 when she participated in the prestigious International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv, Israel, where she was awarded 2nd Price of the Jury in the program’s own Voice Competition. Maari has participated in masterclasses by Ira Siff, Michaela Schuster, Joan Dornemann, Christianne Stotijn, and Lorraine Nubar, among others.
