Linsey Coppens / mezzo-soprano

Mezzo-soprano Linsey Coppens recently won 1st prize at the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions Florida District and Honorable mention at the St-Petersburg Opera Guild Competition. She also won 3rd prize at the Concours des Nouveaux Talents de l'art Lyrique (2017), 1st prize at the Schloss Mirabelle Singing Competition (2015), 2nd prize at the Prinses Christina Concours (2015) and was laureate at the Belfius Classics Competition (2013). Her opera roles include Cendrillon in Cendrillon, Helene in Hin und Zurück, Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Baba the Turk in The Rake's progress, Bianca in The Rape of Lucretia, Milena in My friend's story, Sandmännchen in Hänsel und Gretel and Mrs.Nolan in The Medium

As a soloist Linsey performed the Mezzo-soprano part in Duruflé's Requiem, the alto part in the Cantata BWV 182, BWV 151, Mahler’s Um Mitternacht, Vivaldi's Gloria, Lotti's Requiem and Mendelssohn's Magnificat. In masterclasses and coaching’s she worked with Patricia McCaffrey, Will Crutchfield, Maria Todaro, Kathryn Harries, Helen Donath, Giovanni Reggioli, Roberta Alexander, Dean Anthony, Jeffrey Buchman and Kevin Short. 

Linsey received her Bachelor degree in vocal studies at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp (Juni 2016) with great distinction. She recently received her Master’s degree (May 2018) in vocal performance at the Frost school of music at the University of Miami. Linsey studied with Mezzo-soprano Robynne Redmon was awarded full scholarship and a teaching assistantship.
