Jasper Leever (1990) / bass-baritone
Jasper Leever (1990) has finished his studies at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague in The Netherlands last May with Frans Fiselier as his teacher. He continues his studies at the Dutch National Opera Academy for a Master of Music diploma with Don Marrazzo as his teacher.
At the Royal Conservatoire he has built a strong feeling for various styles of singing like Gregorian chant, early music, lied, oratorio and opera. He also followed masterclasses with Sir Thomas Allen, Thomas Hampson, Sir Willard White, Ben Heppner, Gordon Gerrard, Russell Braun and Claron McFadden.
As for opera, Jasper has started out with the role of Don Bazilio in Il Barbiere di Seviglia by Rossini in France in 2015, Il Commendatore in Mozart’s Don Giovanni with the Dutch National Opera Academy at the start of 2016. In the summer of ’16 he played the part of Collatinus in Benjamin Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia directed by Paul Curran and performed in Banff, Canada. In January 2017 he performed the role of Pandolfe in Massenet’s Cendrillon with the Dutch National Opera Academy.
In the summer of 2017 he performed the role of Prince Gremin in Tchaikovsky’s Evgeny Onegin at the Verbier Festival in Switserland.
Next January Jasper will perform the role of Tarquinius in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia with the Dutch National Opera Academy.
