Marta Liébana / Repetitor (pianist)
Marta Liébana (1985, Madrid) began her piano studies at the Professional Conservatory of Music in Getafe, Madrid, with Áurea Pina, Luis Noaín and Luis Calderón. She continued her bachelor studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid with Almudena Cano, who made a strong influence on her musical career. There she specialised in vocal accompaniment with Juan Antonio Álvarez Parejo.
In 2006 she was admitted in the Sibelius Academy to finish her bachelor in Helsinki, Finland, with Annikka Konttori-Gustafsson. After, she went to Amsterdam where she studied her masters with David Kuyken, the one who will guide her from then on. While her studies she won different scholarships: Almudena Cano’s, Ministery of Spain’s, Madrid Community’s. She has received piano lessons from: Elisabeth Leonskaja, Boris Berman, Evgeni Koroliov, Eldar Nebolsin, Jan Wijn, Claudio Martínez-Mehner, Ilmo Ranta, Vladimir Tropp, Naum Grubert, Willem Brons.
First Prize in Piano and Chamber Music at “Intercentros Competition” sponsored by Hazen, 2002; First Prize and Special Prize to the best Spanish Music performance in La Línea de la Concepción, Cádiz, 2005; Audience Prize of the Grachten Festival Concours in Holland, 2010.
Marta has performed in several venues: Reina Sofía School (Madrid), the Botín Foundation and Ateneo Theater (Santander), Concertgebouw Kleine Zaal and Radio 4 (Amsterdam). She has worked for the DNO (De Nederlandse Opera), Opera Studio in Amsterdam, Opera op Zak, Opera 2Day in The Hague.
Nowadays she works at the DNOA (Dutch National Opera Academy), and at the Conservatory of Amsterdam as piano teacher, piano side subject teacher and répétiteur of the Jong Top Talent department.
She was one of the 12 pianists selected among 160 around the world for the Santander International Piano Competition Paloma O'shea in 2011.
