PERFORMING OPERA

Performing opera is the main subject of the DNOA program.

It is within the framework of the fully staged productions that the student is able to integrate all the information learned in the acting, movement, singing, language and coaching sessions in order to produce as convincing a role interpretation as possible.
He/she learns to be an independent singing-actor who is capable of dealing with the sometimes sharply contrasting production styles in today’s professional practice.

This is achieved by:
• regular drama lessons
• drama workshops
• drama coachings
• lectures
• workshops based on production styles
• fully staged performances
• staged concert performances and concerts

Particular attention is paid to ensemble-/teamwork and collegiality, as this plays a vital role in the success of a beginning singer.
